Ridwana Rahman was born in Portland, Oregon, and is currently making pictures in New York City. Her work is about self and home, sex and prayer. Working in various mediums—photography, sculpture, installation, performance, and video—she is interested in investigating methods of control through her systems of display, focusing on the relationships between space, viewer, and image.

Rahman received her MFA in visual arts from Columbia University in 2025. 
She received her BFA in graphic design and BS in computer science from Oregon State University in 2022.
